Camellia oil to prevent metal rusting

Camelia oil is a natural alternative to conventional oil or petroleum-based products. It is a light oil extracted from camellia seeds that is pale yellow and mostly odourless. Used for centuries to prevent Samurai swords from rusting, it is the most effective oil for the protection, cleaning and lubrication of knives, axes, saws and other tools.

It is food safe, meaning that it can also be applied to catering tools and other applications where it may come into contact with skin.

When applied to wooden surfaces, the oil is absorbed quickly due to its low viscosity. Once absorbed, it helps protect the wood from damage by moisture, dirt and UV light. It dries clear, does not discolour and is non-hardening.

Camellia oil is also known as tea seed oil. It comes from the seeds of Camellia sinensis, a plant from which the tea is made.
